The Penny podcast is for creatives, technologists and disrupters. It is where entrepreneurs share their stories about their business craft. Join us for some inspirational thinking and doing. From initial concept, to devising sustainable business models, building community, and keeping the lights on, everything is up for discussion. We delve into the structures, systems and disciplines entrepreneurs have had to put in place to underpin the big idea. We ask how they navigate the world we live in today, where the workplace is more concept than bricks and mortar. What rituals do they use to keep in the flow and how does creative practice support this? History: Originally created for the Goldsmiths University Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship Master’s degree students. It began during the pandemic as a platform for these entrepreneurs to document their creative process, discuss their business ideas and the impact of a crazy moment in history on the creative industries. It has now expanded to include a broader church of entrepreneurs and startups both in and outside the academic space.

The Penny Podcast meets virtually with Eva in Notting Hill and guest Cynthia Gregoire in Hampstead. Cynthia has completed her MACCE and is now pursuing her fashion idea, she tells us about the perils and pitfalls of lockdown, finding space in Cambodia and how meeting kindred spirit entrepreneurs at Goldsmiths has been life changing.
As referenced in the intro; things have changed slightly and Cynthia is now fighting for her Visa. Visit Cynthia's Just Giving page here to find out more and show your support https://bit.ly/3obHyoO
Please give thanks to Nicolás Ayala Ramírez for polishing up the soundtrack.
Eva was inspired by the patterns of speech she encountered during her recordings and thought it would resonate to turn the title of the podcast into music. She created a short melody by using the words 'Welcome to the Penny Podcast' which sounded great but 'a bit tinny'.
